Steele Media

Full-service marketing · London NW6

We do the whole damn thing.

Steele Media is a full-service shop. Brand, campaign, content, paid media, the website, the email, the thing nobody wants to own. One team, one invoice, no handoff to a stranger halfway through.

Founded 2016 in a converted printworks on Kilburn Lane. Sixteen people now. We still answer the phone.

01 — Work

Seven things that actually moved.

A sample, not a portfolio. We're not going to show you the deck — we're going to show you what happened after. Every number below is one the client gave us permission to publish.

  1. Bakery counter with fresh loaves stacked behind the till

    01Hospitality2025

Harrow & Fen — a bakery that stopped being a secret

Two sisters, one deck oven, a queue that only existed on Saturdays. We rebuilt the brand around the 4am start, shot the whole thing on a phone at 5:40am, and ran a six-week local campaign that never once used the word "artisan".

    +312% weekend revenue · 11 weeks · £4.2k media spend

  2. Finance team reviewing figures together on a laptop

    02B2B software2025

Ledgerline — selling a spreadsheet to people who hate spreadsheets

Their old site explained the architecture. Their buyers don't care about the architecture; they care that month-end takes four days instead of nine. We rewrote every page around that single sentence, killed 60% of the copy, and rebuilt the demo so a finance lead can see it work in ninety seconds.

Demo requests 3.4× · sales cycle down 19 days

  3. Bicycle mechanic repairing a wheel in a workshop

    03Retail2024

Northgate Cycles — a bike shop that got its Saturdays back

Forty years of goodwill and a website from 2011. We kept the sign, kept the mechanics, and rebuilt everything a customer touches: booking, stock, the service reminders that used to be a paper diary. The workshop is now booked three weeks out and the owner took his first holiday since 2019.

Workshop utilisation 94% · 2,100 service reminders sent

  4. Volunteers working together on a riverbank

    04Non-profit2024

Riverbank Trust — fundraising without the guilt trip

The sector default is a sad photo and a countdown clock. We went the other way: the people they help, telling their own jokes, in their own words, on a page that loads in under a second on a cheap phone. Donations went up and, more usefully, so did the number of people who set up a monthly one.

Monthly donors +480 · cost per donation down 41%

  5. Large roadside advertising hoarding on a city street

    05Campaign2025

Pemberton & Vale — a law firm that stopped sounding like a law firm

Fifty years of precedent and a tone of voice borrowed from a council letter. We rewrote the whole site in the way their partners actually talk, put the fees on the page, and ran the first out-of-home campaign in the firm's history on the bus routes their clients take to work.

    Enquiries +168% · average matter value +22%

  6. Coffee bags and packaging arranged on a roastery bench

    06Brand2023

Kestrel Coffee — a roastery that finally looked like its coffee

Great beans, a logo drawn in 2014 in a hurry, and bags that vanished on a shelf next to the big brands. New identity, new bags, a subscription that people actually keep, and a wholesale deck that got them into eleven independent shops in the first quarter.

    Subscriptions +640 · 11 new wholesale accounts

  7. Carpenter shaping a piece of timber in a workshop

    07Maker2023

Ashgrove Joinery — a one-man workshop that stopped quoting by email

Beautiful work, a nine-page PDF quote, and a two-week silence after every enquiry. We built a short configurator, wrote the follow-up sequence, and gave him a photo library he can update from his phone between cuts.

    Quote turnaround 9 days → 40 minutes · win rate 31% → 58%

02 — Services

Everything, or just the bit you need.

Most clients start with one line and grow into four. That's fine. Nothing here is locked behind a retainer you don't want, and we'll tell you when a channel isn't worth your money.

01

Brand & identity

Naming, logo, type, colour, tone of voice, and the rules doc that stops it all drifting in eighteen months. We write the words first — a brand that only works as a logo isn't a brand.

  • Positioning & messaging
  • Visual identity + guidelines
  • Naming & verbal identity
  • Packaging & print

02

Websites & product

Sites that load fast, read clearly, and can be edited by you without calling us. We build on plain, boring technology that will still work in five years.

  • Design & build
  • Copywriting & content
  • E-commerce & booking
  • Accessibility & speed passes

03

Campaign & paid media

Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and whatever the trade press is excited about this quarter. We'll tell you when a channel isn't worth your money — that's most of the value.

  • Strategy & media planning
  • Search & social ads
  • Creative production
  • Measurement & reporting

04

Content & social

Photography, video, and a posting rhythm you can actually sustain. No 30-post launch sprint followed by four months of silence.

  • Photo & video production
  • Editorial calendar
  • Email & newsletters
  • Community management

05

Search & data

The unglamorous plumbing. Analytics that tell you something true, tracking that survives a cookie banner, and a monthly read-out in plain English.

  • Technical & local SEO
  • Analytics setup
  • Dashboards & reporting
  • Conversion testing

06

Fractional marketing lead

For companies too small for a marketing director and too big to wing it. Two days a week of somebody who has done this before, plus the team to execute.

  • Quarterly planning
  • Budget & agency management
  • Hiring & team structure
  • Board-ready reporting

03 — Process

Four steps. No mystery.

Every project runs the same shape. You'll always know which step we're on and what happens next — and what it costs before we start.

  1. 01

    Dig

Two weeks. We talk to your customers, your staff, and the person who answers your enquiries. We read your last twelve months of numbers. You get a written diagnosis before anyone opens a design file.

Output — a one-page brief we both sign.

  2. 02

    Draw

Three directions, not thirty. Each one argued in a sentence. You pick, we sharpen, and we show the thing in the places it'll actually live — a phone, a shop window, a trade ad — not on a white artboard.

Output — a direction, chosen and costed.

  3. 03

    Build

Six to ten weeks depending on scope. Weekly Thursday call, shared board, no surprise invoices. You see work in progress, not a reveal.

Output — everything live, plus the files.

  4. 04

    Run

Optional. We stay on to run campaigns, post the content, and report monthly. Most clients do. Some take it in-house after a year, which we consider a win.

Output — a monthly one-pager you can forward.

04 — Studio

Sixteen people, one room, no account managers.

The Steele Media team working together in the Kilburn Lane studio

The room. Concrete floor, freight lift, no meeting rooms.

Steele Media started in 2016 with two people, a borrowed desk, and a client who wanted a leaflet. The leaflet worked. So did the next one. We've grown by referral ever since — we've never run an ad for ourselves, which is either charming or embarrassing depending on who you ask.

We're based in a converted printworks on Kilburn Lane, North West London. The presses are gone; the concrete floor and the freight lift are not. Sixteen of us now: strategists, designers, two writers, a photographer, a developer, a media buyer, and a producer who keeps the whole thing from collapsing.

The thing we're stubborn about: you talk to the people doing the work. There is no layer of account managers between you and the person who wrote the headline. It means we take on fewer clients than we could. It also means the work is better and nobody has to explain anything twice.

We work with bakeries and software companies, bike shops and charities. The common thread isn't sector or size — it's people who want to be told the truth about their marketing, including the parts they won't enjoy hearing.

Tell us the actual problem.

Not the brief you think you should send. The real one. We'll reply within one working day, and if we're not the right fit we'll say so and point you at someone who is.
